An Awesome Birthday!

On 11-6-11 I turned 11!!!!!

I got up at 6:00 AM which is way to early for Mom and Dad's liking (especially since they where sick). Then reluctantly my mom got out of bed to watch me play hot and cold for my presents. (Not my dad since he was taking me and some friends to the movies. Thanks Dad.)

I got a cool bean bag and a turtle USB. I also got some cool hook on bracelets that the cats will not give up on. (Yes Cici I'm talking about you.)

Then the best present that I've been asking for all summer was the new awesome slap watch! (Mom also painted my nails a groovy orange. Thanks Mom!) Kristy also got me crochet stuff so Christmas presents here I come !!!!!!! ( Thanks Kristy!)

After the presents Dad took my two good friends Jenny and Morgan and me to the movie Johnny English 2 and got us donuts. It was so fun.

After the movie I came home to the beautiful smell of cake. My mom had made it while I was gone but unfortunately I had to wait till it was done. (Easier said than done.) Later I was talking to the Straights on Skype when it was time to eat the cake. Not wanting to stop talking I brought the computer downstairs to this beauty.

Thank you Mom, Dad, Kristy, Ben, Mary, Ellie, Jenny, Morgan, Jalisa, Jim, Jennifer, Sammy the cat, and all those who wished me a happy birthday!!!!!!

Ha! Little Charlotte is my neighbor and the funniest seven year old to walk this earth. So before I tell you this story kindly brace yourself, or if you're reading this at night and people are sleeping just put duct tape over your mouth. So my mom, Charlotte, and I were driving home from school and Charlotte got out her lunch box and started to finish her lunch and said, "If I don't finish this my mom's gonna kill me!". Now I know what you are thinking "that's the funniest thing I've ever heard!" but not until this:). As we got closer Charlotte said dramatically, "I can just hear my mom sharpening the knife."

Dads Birth Day

It's my dad's B- day! So I wanted to make this the best B- day ever. So I did this,
1. I sorted the table
2.washed the dishes
3.put dishes away and put some in dish washer
4.washed Floor
All before my mom and dad woke up! Pretty incredible am I right?

Sand Dunes

What's up everybody?!

I want to tell you about when I went to the sand dunes. O.K. So it was totally FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went with our friends the Rogersons and some other people to the sand dunes. My dad went CRAZY! We went on top of the sand dunes! SO COOL! When we were done dune bashing we we went to the beach. I found a very cool sea shell but I lost it. There was an Arabian girl there and she was swimming and she asked if I could "Sim". Then it was time to go. BOO!

I saw a dead squid! EEEEEWWWWWWW!!!

Being in London

I saw lots of statues in London. And this one was the scariest because it kind of looked like it was alive. It all started where me and mom were heading to the biggest toy store in London. We ended up at Trafalgar Square. The coolest thing about it is there were chess pieces taller then my dad. It took two people to move them.

The next day me and my mom and dad went on a bus tour. And, well, we saw Big Ben. It was the coolest thing ever. But, this picture wasn't taken that day. On the last day we were in London we went to the London Eye and took this picture. I'm going to go back in time a little bit becuase that is not all we did in London. I mean - it's London. It's beautiful.

So, on the second day we were there we went to the West End (or Broadway) play Wicked. Kristy, I know you are so proud. It was great but that's not all I did in London. I shall tell you more later.

The Ice Queen

First of all, from now on you may call me "Ice Queen." The reason is because I eat ice down like crazy. This last summer I've been eating ice so much because it is burning hot outside. Without ice I would be dead. Well, at least I get a lot of water in my belly! Look, here are my friends the ice cubes! So now, whenever you come to my birthday or want to give me a present for Christmas, GET ME SOME ICE!!

And Ci Ci is my Hawaiian Princess Cat. (She's just bored out of her head, really.) Maybe someday I will go to Hawaii. See ya later Alligator!

My Little Kitty Ci Ci

My cat is so silly! She likes to chase the birds, fight with the cats outside through the windows, and hide in the laundry basket. She is so cute too. She likes to cuddle with me. She likes to be a baby, and what do you know, she's always fluffy. I am going to show a video of Ci Ci with the birds. She spends most of her day sleeping or playing with the birds or cats through the window. I'm a lucky ducky to have Ci Ci, or I should say I'm a lucky kitty - do you get it? Lucky Ducky . . . . Lucky Kitty. Ci Ci likes to sleep a lot in the day. We try to keep her awake so she doesn't bug us in the night. My kitty has such green eyes. Sometimes they even match my shirt perfectly. Here are some photos of me and Ci Ci. Her collar tag says "Good Kitty." You know, sometimes when the computer goes crazy I think that Ci Ci was playing video games on it. What a smart little kitty! So always love a kitty!

Abbey's Reading

I'm a super reader! I just finished a book called Starring Tracy Beaker. There are 173 pages in that book. And it is very, very, very thick. It's about this girl, she's in an children's home that she calls The Dumping Ground. The reason why she lives there is because her mom is a star at Hollywood, and she couldn't take Tracy. So she's really sad, and she's in this play, and she thinks her mom is coming, but her mom doesn't. But she still has fun because Cam gave her the wonderfulest Christmas. Cam is a girl who takes care of Tracy when she needs some TLC.

Okay, moving on. I've read all my Junie B. Jones books. At school I read a book every day, and at home when I'm bored I read like a thousand books! The book that I want to read next is the fourth Joey book. Joey books are about this boy, he's very wild and can't control himself, and does crazy things. But in the next one he gets medicine pads that help him cool down. So he goes to stay with his dad (by the way, his parents are divorced) and his dad is even more wild than him, and it's just sad, but it is funny.

ASD

My school is ASD. I love my teacher Miss Verhoye. She is so nice. Miss V is making us have a report. My report is on swimming and cats. Our whole class is studying something together. It is pearls. We are reading a book called The Pearl Diver. I got to see a real pearl diver at the old souqs. In art I am making a self portrait. On Tuesday I am going to make a sculpture. I'm not sure if it is going to be clay or wood or anything like that, so don't ask me. In P.E. we have to wear uniforms. It stinks, but I like the games that they let us do. Music is so fun. I was in a concert the other day, and I played chimes, sang "Dancy Nackooemba" and "How Can I Keep From Singing?" Kristy, aren't you proud of me?!

Today me and my friends sang in front of the class, "I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee." Tomorrow I'm gonna sing, "My Momma Gave Me a Penny." I learned these songs at Brownies (Girl Scouts).

In Girl Scouts I had a campout, and I got a peacock feather. I missed my mom and dad and my cat and especially my bed.

I am going to have Crazy Hair Day on March 26th. How should I fix my hair? I wish I had brought my hair dye to Qatar.

I'm going to put a picture of me and Miss Verhoye and two videos of me on stage at the concert with Mrs Yamaora. (By the way, Miss Verhoye is the one doing the twisty noise maker in the second song.) In the videos I am the one on the top row right above the girl in the white dress and tiara. Bye!

I Miss My Mom

My mom is in Utah for my grandpa's funeral. She will be gone for 12 days. I miss her so much. Cici my cat is filling in for mom. When she gets back I will give her some sea shells I found at the at the beach. Don't worry to tell mom because she all ready knows. The thing I miss about my mom is cuddling with her and going shopping with her and going out to dinner with her. When she left the airport I cried because I would miss her so much. My dad is trying to comfort me while mommy is gone. I'm glad and I'm sad that she has to go to the funeral. I miss Grandpa Drawe so much. I will write a little later but not right now. Bye.

Swimming on Christmas Eve

I just swam in december! I was so hapy that I got to go swimming in december! And I do not have to go A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z. I got school off for a month. Yea me! I have some Polly Pockets that I throw in the pool and I dive down and grab all of them. Then I put them up on the pool deck. Then I throw them back in the water and I get up on the deck and I cannon ball right through them and then I dive down again and get all of them again. I am so excited for Christmas. I have so many ideas to do on Christmas. I can't wait to open my presents. I love all my cousins and friends. I hope you have a Merry Christmas!!!!!

Going to Jordan

I went to Jordan last week. I had so much fun. But there are lots of poor people. I went to the ruins at Jerash. The ruins are sort of like ancient castles.

I saw this kitty in the resort at the Dead Sea. She was so very calm and so cute. I took a picture of her with my camera and mom took a picture of her too.

I went to a place that is called Petra. People thousands of years ago carved a building out of the mountain. I got to ride camels and my camel's name was Jack. In the picture my camel moved so the guy had to pull the camel back closer to my mom's camel. So mom's camel tried to bite the other one.

In the first hotel that I went to in Jordan ít was so very dirty and stinky and gross. The next day we went to a fabulous hotel at the Dead Sea. It was way better than the first hotel. Mom was so happy when we came to the second hotel. There were three swimming pools in the second hotel. The first pool that we went to was half beach half pool. The Dead Sea is very salty. You don't even have to swim because you just float. Now that is what I call cool.

Where In the World is Abbey?

I am in Qatar! I love it a lot and I love it a little. I live in the city of Doha. Me, my mom, and my dad are living here for a year while my dad teaches at VCUQ. In Qatar the ladies wear something that is called a shayla that covers up their heads. And what they wear for clothes is an abaya. An abaya is like a coat except it goes all the way down to your feet and you zip it up. It is usually black. The men in Qatar wear something that is called a thobe. A thobe is kind of like an abaya except it is white and it has a few buttons.

Arabs are not Christians. They are Muslims. So they don't celebrate Christmas. They celebrate Eid. When I first came to Qatar, I felt so very jet lagged. Then after a few months I started getting used to it.

What I like about Qatar is that the gas prices aren't as high as they are in Utah. And you don't have to wear coats usually.
